ABC South West feature
Teens have a role in the future of our world. This program supports their development to ensure a successful future. Teens often feel stressed by school, outside activities and their social lives. This program aims to help them to cope with stress whilst giving them important tools for life. Tools that allow our teens to thrive in the complex, quickly changing world. Head Start will support them to become successful citizens who can happily learn, live and work in diverse communities.
The day will be a combination of theory and experiential learning, with paddock sessions with the horses. The horses are co-facilitators, allowing the participants to experience whatever it is that they need to at that moment.
Program Overview:
- Finding safety: What I wished they talked about at school.
- Building resilience in a digital world: How to navigate the online world whilst staying grounded to the real one.
- Developing Productive Relationships by looking within yourself.
- Unplugged: Connecting with nature.
Key Points:
- Experiential learning about yourself and how to grow in our world. All activities are outdoors on a farm with supervised experiences in the paddock with horses.
- Rediscover the joy of being outside. Head Start runs rain, hail or shine (safety considered).
- Modern leadership training based on latest Neuroscience research.
- This is NOT a horse riding course. All interactions with the horses is undertaken from the ground.
