Friends and Frenemies
Pico jumped the fence last night just before our Sound Bath. Andrew quickly sprayed and wrapped it so I could greet people. The horses are pretty savvy around here so it was an unusual occurrence.
Full moon too. Ungrounded energy.
He's grazed his rear canon bones so it's not too bad and with good care he'll make a quick recovery.
He was pretty out of it last night when I checked after the Sound Bath, and I saw him munching some grass yesterday afternoon where there were some weeds so he may have had some toxicity. I'll keep an eye on him
I just went out to check his leg and offer some healing support.
I trained as an Equine Red Light Therapist in 2014, and ran the Stomach Meridian 3 times on each side off the body. He was wary I was trying to touch the leg, gave me hard eyes, and it took until the 3rd time until he realised what I was doing.
Yes horses run outdated programs too. He was anticipating me trying to touch his leg rather than actually paying attention to the moment and the energy. But he got it third go, and sunk deep into reflection.
Then I offered him BodyTalk Fast Aid which for emergency support and it immediately gets the body mind focusing on the injured area. So I did the protocol, and followed the BodyTalk System into further links.
It led me to stimulating the groin lymph nodes to help with lymphatic return from the hind legs, while also getting the Spleen meridian working better
The it took me to his heart, and the heart pushing blood around the body, which also creates the return for the lymph. His heart needed the lymph drained, and when I explored that it took me to friendship betrayal.
Now at this moment Marshall was at right angles to Pico, with his head and muzzle directed towards the middle of Picos neck. I looked up and saw him deep in meditation. All the horses were tuning into this session.
When Marshall came he wasn't in a great place and all of his stuff he'd held inside came to the surface. Which was a great thing, and all part of the healing process, but he was a bit messy there for a while. Pico was his best buddy throughout all of it, his support worker we'd call him. Pico was the bestest of best friends you could ever wish for.
In recent times Marshall has been a bit of a dick to Pico. Since Gus died, Shaman has been his own bundle of coping mechanisms and one of those is his discovered ability to push Marshall around like a kite. A 650kg kite. Marshall isn't that grounded to be honest, but let's just say he's the youngest in the herd, and he's developing all 16.1h of himself. Things will change. But right now he's a massive kite.
So Marshall has been passing the buck onto Pico and pushing him around. So this is what was coming up.
It struck a chord for me about friendships, and I started crying. Gosh it sounds like I cry a lot hey, well that's healthy emotional regulation for ya. A'ho was right behind my right buttock and resting his head against the back of my leg.
It's a theme I've been working on recently, noticing how friends only want to connect because they want something from you, and the discomfort around setting boundaries around that.
We were all feeling it, the horses and myself
The betrayal
Feeling used
The lack of clarity around things
Then the words 'Your only useful when you're being used ' popped up.
So I'm sitting with that.
Because it's big
You too can have a BodyTalk, Reiki or an Equine Assisted Learning session with the herd.

I've been working with horses and the healing arts in various ways since 2012.
This photo was taken in 2018, we are both fatter now.
