UnConvention of Earth Mothers 2026

The essence of this post isn’t to trigger guilt, in fact the whole day was about freedoms from fear, but rather to let you know how much you matter and how much of an impact you make on a micro business. You matter

Running events these days makes me wonder if it's worth it

Advertising and getting the word out

Preparing days before

Getting up at 4am to prepare and pack

Turning up

Then receiving 20 messages about people not coming

Crying in the car and feeling all the feels

Feeling grateful to the people who did show up, I recognise the effort and truly you were enough.

But still I'm shaken and sitting with all the feels, and what they mean to me, where I put my energy and where to next.

I put my focus towards small in person events post covid because I feel it's important for people to connect, but perhaps it's not that important to others.

So I get the message now and it's time to put my focus back online.

I've shared some of my pain, and now it's time to share the magic.

Part 1 of the magic of the UnConvention

I woke up on Sunday morning at 4am, and started preparing a frittata. An abundance of eggs from my chickens inspired the decision.

After whisking the eggs, adding corn, feta, cheddar, I also went outside to pick herbs from the dew drenched garden, under a twinkling sky. The potential of the day was palpable and lit me up.

Pure Personal Medicine.

I bought the herbs and veggies inside and put the frittata in the oven, then started making the Chai.

I make my own Chai blend from raw ground spices, and two years ago I sourced Aussie grown Vanilla beans to make a vanilla essence which adds their beautiful perfume to the blend. Andrew and I love tea, and I source an Organic OP English Breakfast in bulk.

Do I sound like a particular kind of wanker? Yes it's because I am.

I used to be a Winemaker and total Foodie you see.

I'm particular, and I love sourcing 'The Best' or my idea of whatever that is.

Luckily Andrew isn't nowhere near as fussy, otherwise we'd be in trouble.

Where was Andrew you ask?

He was still in bed, having a Sunday morning nap like any sane person, until I woke him up at 5am because the gas ran out. So he got out of bed in his pjs, got the bbq bottle and hooked me up.

The frittata was only half baked you see.

Thank goodness we got the gas back on.

The Chai was only half boiled too, so it also went back on the heat, and I stirred love into it regularly. It enhances the flavour you see.

Eventually both of them were cooked and I prepped the car ready to go to Eagle Bay. I packed my computer and a speaker as I was intending to share the Origin elder recording and a special recording by a dear friend Sabinananda Ananda and her mare Taz from the Herd of Light. It's just phenomenal.

A huge rainbow appeared on my left as I drove down Chain Ave, it was so close to the road, just there in the field and it followed me as I drove. After I turned left onto Caves Road it appeared on my right , just to the side of the road.

Crows were watching with at least 5 of them making themselves known as I made the journey there.
